No writer is an island onto himself or herself, present
company included. The following were invaluable resources
to me in preparing The Literary Six for readers:
Marilyn
Weishaar is a delightful, funny, and astute professional
editor who can expertly trim the excess from the wordiest
manuscript. She was instrumental in helping to polish
my diamond in the rough.
The website design firm of Designs
After Dark did a spectacular job of getting The
Literary Six out onto the web. With professionalism,
creative genius, and a heaping helping of Texan charm,
Debra Moores, Tara Green, and their team brought my
vision to dazzling life.
The talented artist Holly
Smith designed an incredible book cover that truly
captured the setting of The Literary Six. Another
talented artist who contributed some artwork for the
website is Samantha
Wall from England.
Tony
Lopez is a talented photographer who has a great
eye and can make anyone look good. I've had the pleasure
of working with Tony on several projects in the long-term
care field, so asking him to photograph me for the
website and author photo was a no-brainer. If artistic
vision, patience, and a warm, friendly attitude are
what you're looking for in a photographer, Tony Lopez
is your guy!
Authors
After Dark is an online community for readers
and writers of mystery, suspense, and horror fiction.
The website is chock full of news, reviews, and author
profiles for fans of these genres.
Friends...
One of my favorite freelance writing gigs has been
as a contributing editor with Autograph
Collector Magazine, a national specialty-niche
publication for enthusiasts of the titular hobby.
Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Steve Cyrkin and Managing
Editor Cherise Asato do an incredible job every month
putting out a quality magazine.
The JRose
Studio offers California-based acting classes
and private coaching for aspiring thespians and is
facilitated by the talented actress Jamie Rose (Falcon
Crest, St. Elsewhere). I had the distinct
pleasure of collaborating with this delightful actress
on an interview for AC. Bit of trivia: Jamie was the
inspiration for the character of Taylor in The
Literary Six!
Actor and supermodel Michael
Bergin is truly one of the most down-to-earth
and genuinely funny guys I’ve ever had the pleasure
of interviewing. Check out his official website for
more information about the career of this talented
actor and his exclusive new line of men’s underwear
inspired by his days as a Calvin Klein model. I’m
hoping that if The Literary Six ever gets made
into a film that I can convince Michael to play the
character of Sean!
Musical Artists...
Besides writing and collecting autographs, one of
my passions is music – especially female vocalists.
Some of my favorite (and sorely underrated) female
singers include British songbirds Alison
Moyet and Lisa
Stansfield , the original Power of Love
vocalist Jennifer
Rush, and two former band frontwomen who’ve branched
out on their own – Martha
Davis of The Motels and Maria
McKee of Lone Justice.
Not to leave the guys out, check out Casey
Stratton – one of
my favorite most-deserving-to-make-it-big male vocalists.
If you haven’t heard of this talented singer, songwriter,
and musician, then your ears are missing a real treat!
Writers...
People are always asking me who my own favorite writers
are. Well, among my eclectic list of favorite horror,
suspense, and gay lit scribes are the talented Christopher
Rice, Douglas
Clegg, Jack
Ketchum, Dave
Benbow, Bentley
Little, Michael
Thomas Ford, Michael
Rowe, Mark
Edward Hall ,the late Richard
Laymon, Steve
Gerlach, and the incomparable Michael
Cunningham and Armistead
Maupin.
